  1. Ivan, my vote goes for this blog as best of the semester so far! No rambling, perfectly on topic, and I love the ad. Exactly what twitter does!
It's amusing, creative, and shows the impact of twitter and its usefulness in every day life (coffee) and even the unexpected (earthquake).
    Well done mate!

  2. Oohhh... I'm not sure if this is very clever, or just in bad taste. Probably both! Thanks Ivan.

  4. Nice commercial. Just thought I'd share that my old university had a mobile phone notification system which you could sign up for to get information on daily university activity. Not exactly twitter but the same concept. It came quite in handy when a student was spotted on campus with a weapon; everyone was notified via the notification system while the police quarantined off the area. The warning system helped inform commuting students to keep away from campus, while people on campus locked themselves inside the classrooms. In my opinion it paid off to have the notification system as, no one got hurt.

  5. Great post! Think I might have to vote this as being an ad of bad taste....I'm sure anyone who has ever been affected by an earthquake wouldn't find it funny. Interesting idea though!

  8. From a campaign point of view it has clearly worked - we have all just contributed to the success of it and its on brand, Twitter can pull this off I think!

  9. that clip was put together faster than an earth quake. How about the shirt coming in at right angles. Lame! But point is a good one. And it complements other posts on how SM has been used in disaster situ's.

  11. Awesome Ivan!! I love this clip!!! So effective.... yes ill admit it was a little shotty in the way it was put together - but I feel like that almost adds to it authenticity... its doesnt feel like your being sold to.
But realistically wouldnt we expect this from SM giants like twitter? ...they've gotta practice what they preach!

  12. I thought this clip was a little clever and could certainly be interpreted to be in bad taste... I remember it because it was around the same time I opened my Twitter account! Hopefully there's no correlation there... certainly some people don't find the advert funny at all! Tash
